The lawsuit names the Marion County Government, a Marion County correctional officer known as "Jason" and Marion County correctional officer known as "John Doe" as defendants.

The lawsuit asks for compensatory damages of $500,000 and punitive damages of $500,000.

Ms. Lewis entered the jail on Dec. 9, 2015 to begin service of 90 days confinement for DUI and reckless endangerment.

After entering the jail, Ms. Lewis began to experience abdominal pain and rectal bleeding.  She said she requested medical attention by both written forms and oral requests to the individual defendants, which were all denied.
