Notre Dame Matmen Thump Fairview & White House

The second and third matches were better than the first for the Notre Dame wrestling team on Thursday in the Rooster Duals at Alcoa High School.

The Fighting Irish got whipped by Maryville in Thursday's first match, but they bounced back to defeat Fairview High School by a convincing 58-18 score.  Then they romped past White House by a 57-9 final.

The Irish recorded seven pins in the win over Fairview with Jeremy Holloway's 21-second fall at 106 pounds being the quickest.

Other pin winners included Ned Warwick, David Hodges, Daniel Hodges, James Boyd, Mark Mariani and Kobe Bragg.

Thomas Martin and Thomas Loher both won by forfeit to help Notre Dame while Grant Speer posted a 16-5 major decision at 132 pounds.

In the win over White House, Harrison Nichol, Bragg, Holloway, Loher, Speer and Warwick all had pins while Alex Spraker posted a 5-2 decision.  Andrew Stone, Daniel Hodges and Martin all won with forfeits.
