Two people were shot and killed at the 2100 block of East 13th Street Sunday night. The victims were George Dillard, 24, and Lakita Hicks, 25.
Around 10:32 p.m. a minor called 911 reporting that his mother and father had been shot. Officers were immediately dispatched to the location.
Once on the scene, police located a man and woman, both of whom had been shot. The minor was located safe and unharmed. Both individuals were pronounced deceased on scene.
The Chattanooga Police Department's Violent Crimes Bureau and Crime Scene investigators were requested to investigate and are currently on scene. Investigators are working to determine what happened and who is responsible. No suspect information is available at this time.
The Chattanooga Police Department's Chaplain Corps has been requested to assist in on-scene care.
Patrols have been increased in the surrounding areas and the Chattanooga Police Department is asking that all community members report any suspicious behavior or activity immediately by calling 698-2525.
Police said Monday morning, "Investigators continue to review all leads and evidence which may shed any additional light on the investigation.

"The Family Justice Center and the Chattanooga Police Department's Victims Services Coordinator are working to review all available resources to support the minor victim in this case.
"At this time there are no new details to share concerning cause and no suspect information has been provided or obtained.
"Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525. Further comment and release of details on this investigation will be dependent on the progression of the investigation."
