Ooltewah High AD, Basketball Coaches Turn Themselves In On Failure To Report Child Abuse Charges

  • Thursday, March 10, 2016

Three Ooltewah High athletic officials charged with failure to report child abuse turned themselves in at the Hamilton County Jail on Thursday afternoon.

Head Basketball Coach Andre Montgomery, assistant coach Karl Williams and Athletic Director Jesse Nayadley had gone to the jail on Wednesday, and they were incorrectly told they did not have to be booked.

They were afterward called and directed to return for the booking process.

At their earlier hearing in Juvenile Court, Judge Rob Philyaw and District Attorney Neal Pinkston said they would need to be booked.

Their misdemeanor cases are before the Hamilton County Grand Jury after being sent on by Judge Philyaw.

The charges relate to their handling of the incident in which three Ooltewah High basketball players are charged with the aggravated rape of a 15-year-old teammate.

That incident happened just before Christmas at a cabin in Gatlinburg.
