Dalton Police are hoping someone can identify a man who stole an iPhone from the Hardee’s on East Walnut Avenue. The suspect was recorded on the restaurant’s surveillance system.
The incident happened shortly after 9:30 a.m. on March 13, at the Hardee’s at 580 East Walnut Avenue. A customer at one of the tables inside the restaurant left his iPhone 6S with a gray and white Otterbox case on a windowsill next to the table while eating his breakfast. When the man got up to leave, he forgot his phone and left it behind. After the customer left, another man who had been seated a table nearby then moved to the table vacated by the victim. He took the phone and left the restaurant shortly after. When the victim returned to the store to find his phone missing, he attempted to track the cell phone using the “Find My iPhone” feature, but the device had been turned off.
The suspect is a balding white or Hispanic man with dark hair and a goatee. He wore dark blue jeans and a black T-shirt with white sneakers. He left the restaurant in a dark pickup truck.
Anyone who recognizes this suspect is asked to contact Detective Brian Shirley at 706 278-9085, dial 9 and enter extension 189.
