Mocs Soccer Team Hosts Tennessee Wesleyan On Saturday

  • Friday, April 8, 2016
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s soccer team will host Tennessee Wesleyan Saturday at Noon at Finley Stadium in its final spring scrimmage.

This will be the Mocs’ third scrimmage of the spring. Chattanooga swept Carson-Newman and King University at King’s scrimmage day in late February. The Mocs fell to Tennessee Tech last Saturday in a time-shortened match before giving up a late goal to Austin Peay for a draw in the second match.

"This group has worked hard throughout the spring," Chattanooga head coach Gavin McKinney said.
"We've seen improvement on the pitch in the training sessions and look forward to competing against two good opponents this weekend."

Chattanooga's lineups may look a bit different with players in unfamiliar positions.

"Spring is the time to be creative with our lineups and style of play; test lineups and positions," McKinney said. "Being open and creative is how we approach spring in our style of play."

The match Saturday is set to kick off at 12:00 p.m. at Finley Stadium. Admission is free and gates will be open one hour prior to kick off.
