Mary Sue Pickens Liner, 71, of Calhoun, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016 in a Chattanooga Hospital.
She was born in McMinn County and grew up in the Claxton Community. She was a member of the Hiwassee Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Katherine Wilson Pickens; and sisters, Pauline Yarber, Emma Peters, Nellie Dennis, Rachel Shamblin and Shirley Furr.
She is survived by her husband, Carlos Liner of Calhoun; two children, Rita Garringer of Calhoun and Carla Liner of Calhoun; two grandchildren, Chris Garringer (Heather) of Riceville and Brent Garringer of Calhoun; four great-grandchildren, Brycen & Gavin Garringer , Haylee & Jaxon Garringer; and one brother, James (J.R.) Pickens of Cleveland, TN.
A private family burial will be conducted on Thursday, May 26, at the Calhoun Baptist Church Cemetery with a very dear friend, Ronnie Pruiett officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 24, from 5-8 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel in Etowah, who has charge of the arrangements.
