Mitchell Corder
Mitchell Ellis “Slim” Corder, Sr., 77, of Dayton, died on Monday, May 2, 2016.
He was of the Church of God faith and worked at Challenge Supply for over 15 years. Mr. Corder loved being in the yard, working in the garden and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Corder and Pearl Parker; brothers, Will and Gene; sister, Lola; half-sisters, Ruth and Lois and half-brother, Ronald.
Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Nelda “Sue” Corder; son, Rev. Mitchell Corder, Jr. (Wendy); daughters, Teresa Smith, Judy Gooden (Rev. Mark), Bobbie Boulanger, Mary Key (Eric), Shirley Chavez (Paul), Nancy Wooten (Gary), Linda Stefanoff, Nelda Hernandez (Florentino), Roberta Edwards (Carl); brothers, Bobby Corder (Deana) and Thurman Parker (Annette); grandchildren, Stephen Boulanger, Letitia Boulanger, Tana Townsend, Robert Chavez, Luisa DelPozo, Savannah Wooten, Brandon Edwards, Corey Edwards, Florentino Hernandez, Jr., Cevera Hernandez, Sarah Holland, Hannah Corder, Michelle Price, Shannon Bradford, Tim Gooden and Kylie Gooden; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 7, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Melvin Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Dodd Cemetery.
Visitation is on Friday, May 6, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
