The Economic and Community Development Division at Chattanooga State Community College has planned a four-day, 30-hour OSHA General Industry Outreach Training Program workshop from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. from Sept. 12-15. The course is recommended for new and experienced safety, health and compliance professionals with a wide range of responsibilities, human resource professionals, as well as for employees with some safety responsibility such as plant operations and/or safety committee members.
Topics include an introduction to OSHA, inspection, citation, record-keeping, safety program management guidelines, hazardous materials, PPE, materials handling, hazard communications plus 10 hours of elective training and seven hours of expanded or elective topics.
This workshop is an extension of the 10-hour course, but designed for responsible persons with more detailed coverage of the topic in all subparts. Training emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention, not OSHA standards.
