Police said on Aug. 17 that 18-year-old Dominique Lavon Boyd robbed a cab driver with a shotgun, then a week later he fire two shots at a man he was meeting for a deal arranged on Facebook.

Boyd and another youth stole the taxi in the first incident. He took the victim's girlfriend's car in the second.

Boyd, of 2113 Garfield St., is charged with aggravated robbery in both cases.

Arrested along with him was Tybresha Sexton, 20.

In the Aug. 17 case, a driver for Millennium Taxi received a call to pick up two people at 7732 Hansley Dr.

The youth later identified as Boyd got in the cab and sat in the third row seat. The other youth was in the second row seat.

The taxi went to 511 Arlington Ave. and the charge was just over $18. Boyd asked the cab driver if he had change for $100. He replied, "I do not have that kind of money."

Police said Boyd then said he would get change from his grandmother inside the house on Arlington. Boyd then got out of the taxi, walked to the driver's side, and raised up a shotgun. He told the driver, "You know what this is. Give up the money."

The driver got out and Boyd grabbed around $70 that was in the wallet.

Police said the second youth pulled a shotgun while still in the taxi.

A second person who was in the cab with the driver took off running for fear of being shot.

The pair then left in the taxi. It was found parked on the side of 400 N. Willow St. with no keys.

Police said a video/audio was recovered from the cab.

A detective said he was able to identify Boyd from the taxi video. It was noted that he had the same distinct tattoo on his neck/throat that is on a prior booking mug photo of Boyd.

Boyd was still at large on Aug. 24 when it was arranged that he meet the man at a residence at Holly Hills Circle. The man said Boyd had contacted him about purchasing an item the man had listed for sale on Facebook.

The man said when he arrived at the residence that Boyd came out from behind the house with a shotgun and shot him.

He said Boyd then went to where his girlfriend was parked in her car, pointed the shotgun at her, and made her get out. He then drove off in her car.

As he passed the man, he fired another shot at him, it was stated.

A detective said Boyd used his own phone number and Facebook account to contact the man.

Boyd had also been arrested on June 10 when he was caught with a revolver after a traffic stop on Glass Street. He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.

The car was stopped because an officer said he recognized the car as having been used in a robbery.

Isiah Bledsoe was driving and Boyd was a passenger.

Boyd and Ms. Sexton were arrested Wednesday after police observed them inside a house at 7716A Nautical Way.

Ms. Sexton is charged with aggravated robbery and weapon possession.
