Dennis Lee Scott Sr., 66, of Whitwell, Tennessee, passed away in a local hospital on Tuesday, January 17, 2017.
Dennis was a veteran of the United States Army. Dennis was well known in town for his kindness, his humor and his fondness for taking his Can-Am Spyder motorcycle out for a spin no matter the weather. Even closer to his heart, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and was their biggest cheerleader at any sport they played.
Dennis was preceeded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Juanita E. Scott, Sr.; and his brothers, Roland Scott and Larry Scott.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Scott; his children, Wanita Scott of Jasper, TN and Dennis L. Scott Jr. of Havelock, NC; his grandchildren, Brandon Scott, Maria Scott, Alexander Nunez, Jacqueline Scott, Willie Gavin, Warren Gavin and Diamond Gavin; siblings, Steve Scott, Daniel (Patricia) Scott, Charles E. Scott Jr. and Tammy Rhodes; sister-in-law, Shirley Scott; in-laws, Eddie, Danny, Randy, Denise and Louise; nieces and nephews, Nicki, Paul, Raland, Charles III, Georgetta, Twila, Stephen Jr., Melissa, Angel, Gwendolyn, Russell, Vanessa, Stacie, Shelly, Sherie, Mandy, Rodney and Rachel; cousins, Johnny & Brenda McGinnis, Mark Brewer and Kathy Brewer; best friend, Kenny Dudley; and dear friend, Peggy Chubb.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 21, at 2 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 503 Betsy Pack Drive, Jasper, TN 37347.
