Beverly Hemphill
Beverly Ann Patterson Hemphill, 81, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017.
She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She pursued her passion for gardening with employment at Sid Varners Garden Center. She also spent many hours at the Backstage Playhouse. Her greatest enjoyment was caring for her five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Hemphill; son David Hemphill and her parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Paula (Kermit) McManus of Dalton, GA and Julie (Mike) Thornburg of Chattanooga; five grandchildren, Kyle McManus of Hilton Head, SC, Casey McManus of Savannah, GA, Caleb Thornburg, Noah Thornburg and Adrian Hemphill all of Chattanooga; one brother, Jim Patterson of Reno, NV; nephews, Bill Hemphill and family and Jay Hemphill and family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with the Reverend Courtney Krueger officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, and from 12:30–1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, at the funeral home.
