Lela West
Lela Mae Blankenship West, 93, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at an area nursing home.
Lela loved to sing and when she was younger she sang in church and a few local gospel groups including “Freedom Gospel.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. West; parents, Luther and Beatrice Blankenship; brother, James Blankenship.
Lela is survived by her son, Jimmy West; grandchildren, Michael West (Melanie) and Tamara Cain (Daniel); great-grandchildren, Elijah West , Emmy West, Jonas West, Preslee Cain, Brantley Cain and Tynslee Cain; siblings, Donnie Blankenship and Barbara Lambert.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 19, from 6-8 p.m. at Serenity of Cleveland Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home’s chapel with Pastor Johnny Underwood officiating.
Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Lebanon Cemetery with Michael West, Daniel Cain, Elijah West, Aaron Bedell, Justin Bedell and Jonathan Long serving as pallbearers.
