Robert Joseph “Bob” Davis, 77, of East Ridge, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, in a local hospital. 

He was of the Baptist faith.

Bob was a native Chattanoogan and a graduate of Central High School class of 1958. He worked with the Hamilton County Police Department before retiring from the East Ridge Police Department. He was a member of the East Ridge Optimist club and was an avid Tennessee Walking Horse enthusiast.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Oma Lee Smith Davis.

Survivors include three daughters, Belinda (Ray) Steinmetz, Melissa (Tommy) Swafford and Abby (Chris) Whitaker; seven grandchildren, Taylor (Nick) Watts, Allyson Steinmetz, Jamie Steinmetz, Aaron Steinmetz, Page Swafford, Tinley Card and Davis Swafford; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ken Davis and Homer Davis; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on  Saturday, Oct. 21, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, with Pastor Chris Sheets and the Reverend Denny Manning officiating. Entombment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on  Friday and from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on  Saturday at the funeral home.
