McDonald, L. Lendon (Chickamauga)

L. Lendon McDonald, 88, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Chickamauga and was a member of Chickamauga First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Lendon served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, and retired from South Central Bell after more than 30 years of employment. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, who will be greatly missed.

Lendon was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae McDonald and parents, Louis A. and Virgie Lee McCorkle McDonald.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 15 yrs., Barbara Mitchell McDonald; sons, Mike McDonald, Mark (Loretta) McDonald and Rick (Beth) McDonald; step-daughters, Cindy (Ron) Brotherton and Kim (Sam) McDonald; sisters, Julia Stininnett and Jane McGuire; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 24 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Dr. Darrell Henry officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday and prior to leaving for the cemetery on Friday.
