Donald Gordon Fitzpatrick, 74, of Ringgold, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong resident of North Georgia. He retired from U.S. Express in 2010 after being a truck driver for more than 40 yrs. Don enjoyed spending time with his family and rebuilding hot rods, including several Mustangs. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, who will be greatly missed.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Edith Dixon Fitzpatrick and great grandchild, Layla.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 50 years, Judy Fitzpatrick; children, Jamie (Cindy) Fitzpatrick, Shelley (Nathan) Petty, Christine (Jerry) Smith, Gene (Alisa) Fitzpatrick, Shannon Fitzpatrick, Brian, Fitzpatrick, Cory (Nicole) Fitzpatrick, Matt Fitzpatrick and Steve Fitzpatrick; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 27 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Chickamauga City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-8 p.m. on Sunday and prior to the service on Monday.
