The county schools announced administrative changes at Hardy Elementary and Barger Academy of Fine Arts.

Robin Bambrey will be the new principal at Hardy Elementary and will be joined by Dr. Tonya Rose as the new assistant principal.  At Barger Academy of Fine Arts, Lindsey Hagan will be the new assistant principal.

Robin Bambrey comes to Hardy Elementary from Barger Academy of Fine Arts where she has spent the last two and a half years as the assistant principal.  She was also the literacy coach at Barger Academy and at Bess T. Shepherd from 2012 to 2015 where she was responsible for supporting teachers in building their teaching skills and applying new knowledge in literacy instruction for children. Ms. Bambrey began her teaching career in Pennsylvania teaching first grade, preschool and kindergarten.  She also taught first-grade in North Carolina and Virginia before coming to Hamilton County in 2003 to teach first-grade at Big Ridge Elementary in Hixson.  She also taught second-grade at Wallace A. Smith Elementary in Ooltewah. Ms. Bambrey earned her B.S. in elementary education from York College and her master’s from the University of Phoenix.

Tonya Rose, Ed.D, moves to Hardy Elementary from East Side Elementary where she spent the past year teaching fourth grade.  She spent two years as an assistant principal in Houston County, Ga., at Matt Arthur Elementary and Miller Elementary.  Dr. Rose came to East Side in Hamilton County when her husband took a new job in the Chattanooga area.  She began her career as a teacher in White County, Ga., in 2000 at White County Intermediate School teaching third and fourth-grade.  Dr. Rose moved to Houston County in 2004 teaching at Quail Run Elementary and Lake Joy Elementary.  Dr. Rose earned her B.S. in science from North Georgia College and State University, her master’s from the University of Phoenix and her doctoral degree from Argosy University.

Lindsey Hagan, assistant principal at Hardy Elementary, will move to Barger Academy of Fine Arts to replace Ms. Bambrey.  This move will allow Ms. Hagan to better utilize her extensive experience in fine arts, school officials said. Ms. Hagan has been assistant principal at Hardy since the beginning of this school year.  She started her career as a music teacher in Dacula, Ga., at Mill Creek High.  She also taught music at Washington Elementary in Canon City, Colo., and began her career in Hamilton County Schools teaching music at Bess T. Shepherd Elementary in 2012.  She serves on the steering committee for SCORE (State Collaborative On Reforming Education) for the state of Tennessee. Ms. Hagan earned her B.A. in music education from Lee University and her master’s from Trevecca Nazarene University.
