Artwork by Oksana Ferenchuk
Lee University’s Senior Showcase Art Exhibitions for the fall 2017 semester opened on Nov. 2 and are currently on display in three locations across Lee’s campus until Friday, Dec. 15.
The exhibit showcases the work of seven art students who will graduate this month. Ruth Schuiling and Jacob York’s work is on display in the Communication Arts Building. Natalie Beck, Joy Noelle Bell, Oksana Ferenchuk, and Justin Sigel’s work is on display in Squires Library. Olivia Watts’s work is on display in the Humanities Building.
This showcase represents a variety of approaches and styles depending on the focus and interest of each student. The artist’s statements are posted with each work, giving viewers a sense of what the artist’s interests and goals were in creating the work.
“The art faculty feel this display shows a lot of talent and creativity, but at the same time only a small portion of each student’s total body of work they have created while at Lee,” said John Simmons, assistant professor of art at Lee. “We are very proud of their accomplishments and are confident their future holds a lot of promise.”
The Senior Showcase Art Exhibitions are free and open to the public during normal university hours.
