Jennings, Minna Blanche Babb (Dalton)

Minna Blanche Babb Jennings, 90, of Dalton, Georgia, died on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Regency Park.

She was born November 25, 1926 in Dalton GA, to the late George and Lucy Fletcher Babb; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry H. Jennings; sisters, Jean Bradley and Kate Cochran; granddaughter, Jennifer Hill Wilson; and great-granddaughter, Kasey Nicole Jennings.

She was a member of the Dug Gap Baptist Church. She was very active in her Sunday School Class, Modern Maturity and Southern Baptist Rep for Dug Gap Baptist Church. She graduated from Valley Point High School. Traveled as a Navy wife and worked at Red Field. She started her career as a seamstress with Chief Sports, sewing patches on hundreds of local athlete’s sports jackets and uniforms. She continued sewing at home for Athletes World, Jesse and Robert Thornton and Ben Kiker’s United Karate Studio. She sewed and did alterations for friends and family until the age of 86.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George Danny and Kaye Jennings of Cohutta, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet Keeler of Chatsworth, GA, Gale and Danny Mitchell, Dale and David Bagby of Rocky Face, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Billie Babb of Dalton, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Harvey A. Casper Jr. of Dalton, GA; special niece, Teresa Stephens of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Mitchel Jennings, Gini Hendricks, Brian Mitchell and Brittany Woodhead; great-grandchildren, Kaila Jennings, Mason Hendricks, Abby Hendricks, Hunter Wilson, Griffin Hill and Silas Moreland; great-great-grandchild, Payton Marie Jennings; and several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Minna Blanche Babb Jennings will be held Saturday February 11, at 12 p.m. from the Dug Gap Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Bagley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Craig Babb, Kent Babb, Andy Babb, Adam Hill, Mike Trotter and Bud Haley serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, February 10.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Tracy Lopez, Dr. Elam, Dr. Cheever, her loving friend and roommate Gladys Misner and all the staff of Regency Park for the care they showed for Mrs. Jennings and her family.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Dug Gap Baptist Church.
