Dalton State kicked-off its spring schedule with a fourth place finish in the Samford Spring Invitational, held at 5,909 yard, par 72 Greystone Golf & Country Club in Hoover, AL, just outside Birmingham.

Freshman Tia Teiniketo was the top finishing Roadrunner, coming in 18th after shooting 78 in the second round.  Freshman Isabel Rijos posted a strong score of 78 to finish in 23rd.  All-Americans Katie Dalton (79) and Caroline Griffin (76) finished tied for 25th, while redshirt freshman Haejin Choe shot 77 to finish 27th.

"There were a lot of positives that we can pull from this tournament," said Coach McGrew.  "A good team performance in early spring is always promising on top of some very solid individual performances.  An event like this always gives us a good indication on where we stand after a short offseason, especially against some strong competition.  Obviously, there are some things that we need to clean up throughout the semester, but all in all, a good start to the semester."

The Lady Roadrunners will be back in action on February 20-21 in the Georgetown College Women's Invitational in St.
Augustine, FL.
