Chattanooga Christian School senior Jack Freeman, son of Doug and Rhonda Freeman, signed letters of commitment on Monday to attend Emmanuel College in the fall where he has received an athletic scholarship for bowling.

Classmates, teachers, and family friends joined Jack in the CCS Varsity Gym to celebrate with him and his family.

CCS High School Principal Forrest Walker, began the celebration with prayer and thoughtful comments about Jack’s exemplary conduct as a student, leader, athlete, and singer. Jack followed these remarks with a short reflection on his middle and high school bowling career and words of gratitude for his friends’ and family’s faithful support and encouragement. “To God be the glory” – the message on the banner behind Jack – was a perfect summary of the Freemans’ expressions that day.

Last month, Jack finished seventh in the Tennessee State Bowling Tournament. This is the highest finish that any CCS student has had in the state for bowling. Jack was 20 pins away from qualifying for the championship round (top 6).

Jack also has the following  notable co-curricular involvement: National Honor Society (inducted 2016), Choral Ensemble (2014-2017), Musical (Mary Poppins 2015), All-East Choir (2014), Children's Church Leader (2015 - present), TN - United States Bowling Congress Leader (2015), National Student Leadership Conference (American University - 2015).

When asked why he chose Emmanuel College, Jack stated, “As a smaller, private Christian college with a high degree of excellence and one of the best bowling programs in the country, Emmanuel offered me the best opportunity to continue to grow in my faith, academics, bowling, and leadership. Oh - and it's only three hours from Chattanooga!”

He plans to study communications, pre-law, or kinesiology.
