The National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA) announced that Michael D. Newton of the law firm, Leitner, Williams, Dooley & Napolitan, PLLC has successfully achieved re-certification as a civil trial advocate. Mr. Newton has been a NBTA member in good standing for ten (10) years. The NBTA was formed out of a strong conviction that both the law profession and its clients would benefit from an organization designed specifically to create an objective set of standards illustrating an attorney's experience and expertise in the practice of trial law.
Mr. Newton is part a growing number of trial attorneys that have illustrated their commitment to bettering the legal profession by successfully completing a rigorous application process and providing the consumer of legal services with an objective measure by which to choose qualified and experienced legal counsel.
Mr. Newton graduated with his Bachelor of Science from Birmingham- Southern College in 1989. He went on to graduate from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys, School of Law with his Juris Doctor in 1992. He is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC), The Defense Research Institute (DRI)(Trial Tactics Committee), Tennessee Bar Association (member, Litigation Section), Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association and Georgia Bar Association. He has been selected as a Mid-South Super Lawyer since 2013, and is past president of the Chattanooga Civitan Club.
