McCallie and Baylor had student-athletes sign/commit to colleges and universities Wednesday from a Power 5 D-I school to FCS D-I to D-III and NAIA.

McCallie (5)  - quotes from coach Ralph Potter

Jaylan Nowell – Cumberland Univ. (Lebanon, Tenn. – NAIA) … LB …”He has the great mentality to be a good linebacker as he led all of D-II in tackles this past season.”

Shawn McColley – Austin Peay … RB

Robert Riddle – Mercer Univ. … Quarterback … “the most accurate quarterback I have ever coached.”

Giovanni Hightower-Reviere – Purdue U. (Big 10) … “Giovanni has tremendous upside potential at a defensive tackle or end.”

Tyree Stewart – Tennessee … WR … preferred walk-on … “Tyree will get every chance to make the team and be part of all practices and meetings as all the scholarship players.”

Baylor (4) and quotes from head coach Phil Massey

Cole Johnson – UTC … 6-0 250  FB … “He is a perfect fit to be a fullback as playing that position gives him an excellent chance to get on the field.”

Johnson said,” It has always been a dream of mine to play for UTC following my dad (Brent) who played for the Mocs in the early 1980s … “I look forward to playing fullback as I enjoy hitting people and opening holes in the defense for the running backs.”

Tyree Toliver – Furman … 6-1, 220 DE … “With a new staff at Furman, Tyree can come in and try and get some playing time.”

Bryce Verble – Centre College (D-III  Danville, Ky.) … 6-0, 195 QB … “Bryce is the third player we have sent to Centre in the past three years so I am sure that will help him get adjusted to college ball knowing a couple of teammates.”

Verble said, “When I visited Centre I knew it was the right school for me as I could see myself playing there for the next four years.”

Emanuel Williams – Austin Peay – 6-2, 190 WR … “Emanuel has a chance to play for a program in its second year under a good head coach in Will Healy … I have a lot of respect for Will.”
