Mary Rose Scott, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2017

She was a former resident of Chattanooga, where she worked for the Tennessee Church of God State Executive Offices for 28 years as state secretary treasurer. Mary served as Women's Ministries Coordinator, as her husband, Bobby Scott Sr. served as administrative bishop, for the Church of God Midlands Region for two years and Northern New England for four years, before moving back to Cleveland, to continue their ministry.

She was preceded in death by her father, Reverend E.B. Rose, her mother, Myrtle Rose and brother L.M. Rose.

Mary is survived by her husband, Bobby Scott Sr., of Cleveland, daughter, Dianna Akers (Vaughn) of Cleveland, son, Donnie Dobson (Kim) of Leesburg, Ga.; grandchildren, Kellie Akers Hill (Chuck), and Kilee Dobson; stepchildren, David Scott (Donna), Bobby Scott Jr., (Holly), sister, Ruth Kinney, and three grandsons, Jonah, Jonathan, and Isaac Scott.

Visitation will be on Sunday, Feb. 26, from 3-8 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.  

Mary will lie in state on Monday, Feb. 27, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at The Ministry Center Church of God, 2929 Hamill Road, in Hixson with the funeral immediately following.  Bishop Mitch Corder and Bishop Chris Moody will be officiating.  Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Bishop Edwin Lipsey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the Smoky Mountain Home for Children at the Church of God State Executive Office, 7428 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
