Cleveland Half Marathon To Be Held May 13

Terra Running Company will be the hosting a half marathon and 5K on Saturday, May 13.

A minimum of 70 volunteers are needed. To volunteer, contact Terra Running at 423-790-7901. Volunteers are provided a free tech t-shirt.

Local businesses sponsoring the event include: Chick-fil-A, East West Media, Cleveland State Community College, Lee University, Special Deliveries of Cleveland, Cooke’s Food Store, LoAdebar, Huma Gel, Team Lowman Endurance Coaching, and Historic Cleveland Neighborhood Association.  "We are still looking for sponsors, so if businesses are interested in getting involved they can contact Terra Running Company," officials said.

There will be 6 aid stations on the course provided by Lee University, Cleveland State Community College, Historic Cleveland Neighborhood Association, and Chick-fil-A, with water and Huma gel.

The Craigmiles Hall won the online vote for the finisher medal which is the start and finish of the race.

There will be three course preview group runs for all runners to preview the race course before the race. Information on these can be found at http://www.clevelandhalf.com/course-preview-runs/.

Registered participants can pick up their race packets and race numbers on Friday, May 12 at Terra Running Company from 10:30 a.m.- 6 p.m. Runners can also register at Terra Running Company that day.

Due to the nature of a running race, participants are strongly discouraged from using headphones during the Cleveland Half Marathon and 5K. Dogs, bikes, skateboards, and jogging strollers are not permitted in the race.
