CSAS Wind Ensemble To Play Carnegie Hall; Free Preview Concert Is Thursday

  • Tuesday, March 14, 2017

The Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences Wind Ensemble, under the direction of David Butler, has been selected for a huge honor.

The ensemble will head to New York this weekend to join just six other bands from across the country for the annual ‘Symphonic Series at Carnegie’ on Monday.

This makes it one of the only high school bands from the state of Tennessee to ever perform in Carnegie Hall.

A preview concert will be held on Thursday, at 5 p.m. in Creed Bates Auditorium at CSAS.

This concert is free and open to the public.

Music to be performed will include works by Dello Joio, Dukas, Goto, Sousa, and Verdi.
