  • Thursday, March 16, 2017
Hamilton Place will host the seventh annual student art competition awards reception this Friday at 10:30 a.m.  Light refreshments will be provided by Barnes and Noble Café and the public is invited to attend.  The reception and awards ceremony will take place on the main stage, on the lower level of the mall by Belk Women’s and Children’s Store.

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Hamilton Place, this year’s theme is “Hamilton Place – Spinnin’ Thru the 80’s”. Hamilton County Students in grades K–12 were asked to design an album cover to combine their favorite 80’s music, with a shopping tie in.

Students were divided into three categories by grade, with first place winners receiving a $50 Barnes and Noble Gift Card; second place winners receiving a $35 Barnes and Noble Gift Card; and third place winners receiving a $20 Barnes and Noble Gift Card.  In addition honorable mentions were awarded this year.

“We were so impressed with the artwork that we received for this year’s competition,” said David Meadows, general manager for Hamilton Place. “There is unbelievable talent and imagination in these young artists. We are proud to help showcase their work.” All winning pieces will be on display in the mall’s soft seating areas through September 2017.
