Joan Fisher, 84, of East Ridge, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at her home with her loved ones at her side.

She was a member of Crosspath Church and was a librarian at East Ridge Baptist Church (Crosspath) for over 40 years. She also served at the East Ridge Public Library and East Ridge Middle School Library. She was a member of the Transatlantic Brides and Parents Association (T.B.P.A.), where she was the secretary of her local chapter for many years. Everyone who has ever met her could see the love and joy she had for life and people through her beautiful smile and eyes. She never met a stranger.

Her husband of almost 60 years, Burl Fisher, preceded her in death.

Surviving her are her daughters, Janet and Sherry Fisher; grandson, Terry (Lynda) Cope; great-grandchildren, Seth and Jonna Cope.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, March 27, in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to any Alzheimer’s research organization, any animal welfare organization or any public or school library.
