Lookout Mountain artist Diane Reed will be the May featured artist at Gallery 5 at the MACC.  Her opening reception will be held on Friday in Gallery 5 at the MACC from 5-7 p.m. and is open to the public.

Those attending the opening can meet the artist and view her works, while enjoying refreshments and meeting other folks in the arts community.  The exhibit runs from May 1–30.

Ms. Reed was born and raised on a cattle farm in the mid-west. She began expressing her interest in painting in the art program at Indiana State University. She did post graduate work at universidad de Las Americas in Pueblo, Mexico and then at the University of Houston.

After a recent exhibition in Argentina, Ms. Reed gives the opportunity to view the paintings and drawings inspired by her travels.

“I have always been attracted to the essence beyond the surface, the soul within the image,” said Ms. Reed.
