World War II Veteran Retired From DuPont After 37 Years

Willard “Woody” Harris, 90, passed away on May 17, 2017 at his home in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Mr. Harris retired form DuPont with 37 years of service, was a Navy veteran of World War II serving on the U.S.S. San Marcos and the U.S.S. Crater, and was a member of Ridgedale Masonic Lodge #660 and Alhambra Shriners. 

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Lamberth Harris; daughter, Angi (Jim) Shoemake of Sarasota, FL; son, Marc Harris of Fort Myers, FL; step-son, Todd Knight of Chattanooga; daughter-in-law, Vanessa Knight of Chattanooga, TN; 4 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Les Harris of Carson City, NV; and step-son, Larry Knight of Chattanooga.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Alhambra Shrine Temple Transportation Fund, 1000 Alhambra Dr, Chattanooga, TN 37421, 423-892-0223.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 22, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Reverend Bob Patty officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday at the Ryan Funeral Home in Trenton.
