Charade To Screen At Heritage House This Thursday

  • Tuesday, June 13, 2017

A Cary Grant - Audrey Hepburn Thriller CHARADE encore screening will be held at Heritage House on Thursday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Admission and popcorn are free.  The screening is from the 2010 restoration print.

Review:

After Regina Lampert (Audrey Hepburn) falls for the dashing Peter Joshua (Cary Grant) on a skiing holiday in the French Alps, she discovers upon her return to Paris that her estranged husband has been murdered. Soon, she and Peter are giving chase (and sometimes being chased by) three of her late husband's World War II cronies.

It would seem that Tex (James Coburn), Scobie (George Kennedy) and Gideon (Ned Glass), are also after that quarter of a million dollars the quartet stole while behind enemy lines.

Q: But why does Peter keep changing his name?

This romantic thriller mixed with a touch of screwball comedy has been called "The greatest Hitchcock film Hitch never made" by The Guardian and is listed in the essential guide "1001 Movies to See Before You Die."
