James O. Rogers, 80, of Signal Mountain, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017.

James served his country in the U.S. Army and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in East Ridge. He worked at Prentice Cooper as a game warden before becoming a heavy equipment operator at T.V.A. James was a mason. He was well loved by many people, a great story teller and will be missed by all those who knew him.

James was preceded in death by his parents, L.C. and Mary Rogers; brothers, Kenneth Rogers and Larry Wayne Rogers and grandchildren, Heather Lynne Mulkey and Stacey LeAnne Hudson and son-in-law, Roy Sharp.

Survivors include his daughters, Carol Sharp, Rhonda Miller (Kenny), Cheryl Combs (Mitch) and Vickie Barger; sisters, Barbara Kilgore, Wanda Patterson and Peggy Cogar (Jim); 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many special friends.

Services will be held on Friday, June 23, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Visitation will be on Thursday, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
