The Honoring the Sacrifice Foundation announced that Lt. Colonel Oliver North, USMC (Ret.) will be the guest speaker at the fourth annual American Heroes Dinner. The event will be held on Friday, July 14, at 7 p.m. at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

The Honoring the Sacrifice Foundation provides assistance (financial and material) and support to severely injured men and women, and their immediate families, who suffered injuries while in service to our country.

SGT Andrew T.

Smith (U.S. Army retired), founder of the Honoring the Sacrifice Foundation, said, “On March 8, 2012, I was in injured in Afghanistan on my first patrol when I stepped on a pressure plate improvised explosive device (IED). After returning home, family, friends and my community provided support and encouragement. We started the Honoring the Sacrifice Foundation in 2013 to assist other wounded veterans and their families. One day they are fighting for our freedom and the next day they are injured. Those injuries will last a lifetime. It’s important for us to come together to help those who have given an incredible amount. This dinner will help bring awareness to our cause and allow us to continue helping as many wounded veterans as possible.”

LtCol North is a combat decorated U.S. Marine, author of 13 award-winning books, inventor with three U.S. patents, syndicated columnist, and host of the award-winning Fox News Channel show “War Stories.” Mr. North was born in San Antonio, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. He served 22 years as a Marine officer and has been embedded with more than 55 U.S. and allied combat units. His awards for service in combat include the Silver Star, the Bronze Star for valor, and two Purple Hearts for wounds in action.

“Honoring the Sacrifice is a wonderful cause. I hope you can join me in supporting them in all they do to support American Heroes,” said LTC North.

Examples of assistance that the foundation has provided veterans includes: housing adaptations for severely-wounded veterans in Tennessee, Colorado, North Carolina, Florida, and Virginia; assistance acquiring a vehicle following a serious car accident for a veteran; two customized lawn mowers with hand controls to assist double amputees who were wounded in Afghanistan; snow blower for a hero in Minnesota who suffered a back injury while deployed in Iraq.

Tickets to the dinner range from individual options to table sponsorships. The 3-Star and 4-Star packages include a VIP reception with LTC North. Purchase tickets at www.honoringthesacrifice.org/event/american-heroes-dinner.
