Teresa “Terri” Farmer died peacefully on Tuesday, July 25, at the age of 68.

Terri is survived by her husband, Thomas “Tommy” Farmer; children, Jason Farmer (Ann), Jad Farmer (Jennifer), Jeffrey Farmer (Robin), Meg Fossett (Rob); grandchildren, Gus Farmer, Lina Farmer, Reed Farmer, Sydney Farmer, Ella Farmer, Claire Farmer, Sawyer Fossett, Max Fossett, Henry Fossett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Joseph McGuire (father), Meta McGuire (mother) and Ellen Robinson (sister).

Terri was born in Knoxville, on Aug. 11, 1948, to James and Meta McGuire.  She graduated from Notre Dame High School and the University of Chattanooga. In ninth grade she met her life-long sweetheart, Tommy Farmer. They later married on Oct. 31, 1969, and spent every day of their lives together as inseparable soul mates. Terri was a devoted mother to her four children and loving grandmother to her nine grandchildren.

Terri spent her professional life serving others as the executive director of the American Cancer Society, the director of the Tennessee Craniofacial Foundation and executive director of the Craniofacial Center at Erlanger Hospital. She had a huge heart and boundless compassion for the children she worked with who received transformational craniofacial surgery. She was a member of Calvary Chapel and loved serving in Calvary’s Renew Program.

Terri loved to make life’s moments beautiful. She was a masterful hostess, an excellent cook, and had a keen eye for aesthetics, especially when it came to floral arrangements and interior design. She used her gifts to bless as many as she could. Her life was beautiful even as she loved to make life more beautiful for others.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 27, from 4–8 p.m. at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel Chattanooga.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the ALS Association.

Arrangements are held by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
