Bradley Central bounced back from a season-opening overtime loss to Farragut with a 52-7 demolishing of rival Walker Valley behind a strong effort by quarterback Dylan Standifer on Friday night.
Standifer enjoyed a flawless passing game, completing all 13 of his attempts for 303 yards and three touchdowns.
Standifer connected with wideout Lameric Tucker on two touchdown bombs covering 63 and 66 yards.
Nick Howell hauled in a 53-yard TD strike from Standifer early in the second quarter. Howell also scored on a 21-yard run.
Tucker finished with five receptions for 176 yards.
The junior quarterback ran for touchdowns of 4 and 1 yard in the second quarter as the Bears (1-1) built a 35-7 halftime lead.
Bradley’s Clay Shoemaker kicked a 22-yard field goal and reserve quarterback Tucker Pope, who completed both of his passes, tossed a 4-yard TD to freshman Tray Curry to cap the scoring.
Kolten Gibson hooked up with wide receiver Zeke Westfield on a 43-yard play for Walker Valley’s lone touchdown.
It was the Mustangs’ second straight loss to open the season.
The Bears piled up 416 yards of total offense while holding the Mustangs to 164.
Bradley 307 yards passing. Walker Valley had 138 through the air and just 26 rushing.
Jay Person led the Bears with seven tackles, including 1 ½ sacks and four tackles for minus-22 yards. Kole Hall recorded nine tackles for the Mustangs.
