MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Travis Harrison hit a two-run home run and had two hits as the Chattanooga Lookouts beat the Montgomery Biscuits 5-2 on Wednesday.
The Lookouts chances of winning both halves of the Southern League's North Division look very good at the moment. A Friday night victory will give Chattanooga 30 second-half wins. The Lookouts won 42 games in the first-half. The Southern League schedule consists of 140 regular season games; Chattanooga has 30 games remaining this season, not counting the playoffs.
Fernando Romero (11-6) put up a solid performance through five innings. He allowed just one run on six hits while striking out three to earn his Southern League leading 11th win of the year. He gave up one run on six hits over five innings. He hit a batter and struck out six. Of his 72 pitches, 50 of them were strikes.
Dereck Rodriguez, returned to the mound and worked two scoreless innings out of the bullpen. He walked two and struck out three. The Biscuits had their chance when Rodriguez would load the bases in the seventh with no outs. He worked his magic retiring the next three batters via strikeout to ruin the Biscuits best opportunity to cut into the lead.
After Levi Michael smacked an RBI-single in the top of the first to put Chattanooga up 1-0, the Lookouts would add a pair in the second with a two-run shot by Harrison over the left field wall and that is all they would need to put it away for good.
Harrison had the big hit early. He went 2-4 with a two-run homer, his third of the season. Levi Michael continues to hit well. He went 2-4. Ryan Walker went 1-2 with two walks. Alex Perez also walked twice. Nick Gordon added his 25th double of the season.
Ryan Eades pitched the eighth and gave up one run on three hits. Gabriel Moya worked a scoreless ninth inning to record his 18th save and reduced his ERA to 0.77.

Saturday: Baseball Clinic, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., for people of all ages who have been diagnosed with Hydrocephalus
Hydrocephalus, which affects more than 1 million Americans of all ages, is caused by an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain. The only treatment requires brain surgery, and repeated surgeries are often needed due to high failure rates of the predominant treatment—the insertion of a medical device called a shunt into the brain. It is the leading reason for brain surgery in children in the U.S. What is less well known is that anyone can get hydrocephalus at any time from a brain injury, infection, tumor, or, for unknown reasons, as part of the aging process.
