Covenant Women's Tennis Downs Snead State, 7-2

The Covenant women's tennis team officially got its 2017-18 season underway on Saturday as the Lady Scots defeated Snead State 7-2 at the Covenant Tennis Complex.

The match was the lone, regular season, dual match scheduled for the fall for Covenant (1-0).

Aly Hall, Esther Eddy and Annie DeLuca each had two victories for the Lady Scots.
Covenant swept the three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead, then cruised to the match victory in singles play. Hall and Eddy were 8-1 winners at the top doubles spot against Snead's Erika Roman and Meagan Moore, while DeLuca and Jennie Spielman won 8-3 over Elaina Holt and Kaitlyn Williams at No. 2. 


Morgan McCain and Sarah Ragsdale completed the sweep in doubles with their 8-1 victory against Ashton Downey and Katie Hill.

Hall gave Covenant a 4-0 lead with her straight set victory over Roman at the top singles position. DeLuca then clinched the victory for the Lady Scots with her 6-1, 6-0 win over Moore. Eddy took down Williams 6-0, 6-1 at the third spot.

Masha Lanska collected a win at the No. 5 spot by besting Hill 6-0, 6-0.

UP NEXT

Covenant will begin the spring portion of the season in February. The complete spring schedule will be announced at a later time.
