Jerry Lee Girton, 81, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, January 27, 2018.

He was a native of Greencastle, In., and lived there until his mid 30s. Jerry was the son of the late Ve Donald and Mildred Grace Warren Girton. He was a member of the Moose and Elk Lodge’s in Greencastle, In. Jerry was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church where he was very active with the Usher Ministry. He loved sailing, gardening, was an avid outdoorsman and was very knowledgeable about all types of birds and enjoyed watching them and sharing information about them. Jerry was an avid golfer and was a member of several local golf clubs. 

He was preceded in death by his brother and sister.

Survivors include his loving wife, Marcia Thompson Girton; children, Angela Marie Brockman, Jerry Len (Tina) Girton and Clayton (Dawn) Poe; grandchildren, Christopher and Samuel Girton, Lydia and Killian Brockman, and Trip, Stephany and Jackson Poe; great-grandson, Antonio Dease.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Chuck Patrick officiating.  Entombment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
