Children’s Fund Baseball Classic Is March 3

  • Wednesday, February 21, 2018

The Third Annual Children’s Fund Baseball Classic will be held at AT&T Field, home of the Chattanooga Lookouts, on Saturday, March 3.

The purpose of the Catoosa County Children’s Fund is to provide Catoosa County School children and families with short-term needs such as food, clothing, shelter, dental and medical care, educational related supplies or fees, or short-term emergency needs in an effort to develop their physical, mental, and emotional health and welfare.

Previous year’s games in the first Children’s Fund Baseball Classic were some of the highest attended games in AT&T Field history.

The Classic this year will feature three games. In game one, LFO High School will play Ridgeland High School at 11 a.m. In game two, #2 ranked Ringgold High School will take on Northwest Whitfield High School at 1:30 p.m.  And in game three, #1 ranked Heritage High School will play #2 ranked Gordon Lee High School at 4 p.m.

The gates will open at 10 a.m., and there will be a silent auction at the beginning of each game.

In conjunction with the Catoosa County Children’s Fund Baseball Classic, organizers will be hosting the 1st Annual Catoosa County Cornhole Tournament.  The tournament will be held at AT&T Field.  There will be two divisions, doubles and singles. Doubles will begin at 12 p.m. and singles at 3 p.m. There is an entry fee of $30 for the doubles tournament and $20 for the singles tournament.

All monies raised will be donated to the Catoosa County Children’s Fund. Tickets can be purchased at the Catoosa County Board of Education, Catoosa County Sherriff’s Office, or from the LFO/Heritage/Ringgold baseball teams. Tickets will be $5 per person.
