Frances “Francie” McAfee Ryder
Frances McAfee Ryder “Francie”, 73, passed away on February 28, 2018.
Daughter of the late Thomas R. and Frances R. McAfee, she resided in Chattanooga, most of her life. She was preceded in death by her brother Thomas R. McAfee, Jr. and a nephew Charles Jefferson “Jeff” Hagood.
She served as Executive Officer of the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors for over 20 years and served a total of 27 years with the Association. Francie loved working with the Realtors and made many friends through the years.
Survivors include her husband of over 30 years, Phillip A. Ryder; daughters, Jennifer V. Davis and Emily C. Harwood (Jerry); step-daughter, Natalie R. Prue (Chris) of Alpharetta, GA; step-son, James B. Ryder of Williamson, GA; grandchildren, Mara Vogel, Gracie Vogel, Erin Vogel, Hannah Shiver, Chloe Bridges, Trevor Henn and Connor Henn; a sister, Margaret Lukken of LaGrange, GA; and niece, Kim Myers (Richard) also of LaGrange.
Francie was an active member of Burks United Methodist Church having chaired the Finance Committee, served on the Staff Parrish Relations Committee, and served as a lay representative to the annual Holston Conference at Lake Junaluska. She was also a member of the New Beginnings Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, March 2, from 5-7 p.m., at Hamilton Funeral Home, 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN.
A memorial service will be held at Burks United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 3, at 2 p.m., with Dr. Tony Collins officiating.
The family will also receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the memorial service, from 1-2 p.m., at the church.
