3 Republicans File Thus Far To Run For House Seat Being Vacated By Rep. Kevin Brooks

Three Republicans have filed thus far in Bradley County to run for the House District 24 seat being vacated by Rep. Kevin Brooks.

They include County Commissioner Mark Hall, Alan Ledford and Garry D. Moore. Israel David Farless and Bruce Schrock have picked up papers.

Attorney Scott Kanavos picked up for the Democratic primary.

So far Rep. Dan Howell has no opposition in House District 22.

A race is shaping up in Senate District 9 between Democrat Carl Lansden and Senator Mike Bell, a Republican.

Rep. Brooks will have opposition from Duane Schriver for mayor of Cleveland. Longtime Mayor Tom Rowland is retiring and has endorsed Rep. Brooks.

Bill Estes thus far is unopposed for Cleveland Council District 2.

Incumbent Charlie McKenzie and Hiawatha Brown have picked up for District 1.

Ken Webb is the first to file for Cleveland Council-At-Large. Those picking up include Larry D'Agata, David Patrick Durkin, Michael A. Harvey and Scott McGowan.

Several Cleveland School Board members have no opposition, including Dawn Robinson, Peggy Pesterfield, Tom Cloud and Charles Cogdill.

Incumbent Vicki Beaty has filed for County School Board District 2, while Chris Cassada picked up.

Troy Weathers is running for County School Board District 4. Incumbent Dianna Ball Calfee picked up papers.

Incumbent Amanda Lee is the only contender so far in County School Board District 6.
