  • Friday, March 9, 2018

Bachman Community Center invites the public to Session Two of its History of Walden’s Ridge Lecture Series.

This session will focus on C.E. James’s vision for Signal Mountain in the early 1900s as a vacation destination. Much like today, this era was bustling with growth and development, except that the booming industry was tourism rather than home construction. C.E. James lured both common vacationers and cultural icons to the mountain for rest and relaxation. And he got them up the mountain by trolley.

Organizers said, "Come learn more about this trolley, the founding of Old Towne and more of our fascinating local history. Join us at Bachman Community Center (2815 Anderson Pike) on Saturday, March 24 at 10:30 a.m. for Session 2 of the Walden’s Ridge History Lecture Series by James Douthat.
