CSO Celebrates Bob Bernhardt’s 25th Anniversary With Bob’s Favorite

  • Tuesday, April 10, 2018

The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera presents the season’s final Luken Holdings Pops Series concert, Bob’s Favorites, on Saturday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Tivoli Theatre.

Bob’s Favorites celebrates Principal Pops Conductor and Music Director Emeritus, Bob Bernhardt’s, 25th anniversary with the CSO with a concert comprised of his favorite pieces from show tunes, movie music, classical pops, and opera. A diverse mixture of classical and modern composers including Gershwin, Bizet, Mozart, Andrew Lloyd-Webber, and John Williams will be featured during the evening’s performance.

“I am so delighted, and proud, to be able to celebrate my 25th anniversary with the CSO on stage  at the Tivoli Theatre with my friends and colleagues in our wonderful orchestra,” said Mr. Bernhardt. “The concert is unabashedly entitled Bob’s Favorites and I’ve planned a concert of music I love with soloists I care for and admire. As a lucky musical omnivore, we’ll be playing music from the genres of opera, symphony, symphony with chorus, concerto, Broadway, and film.

"My great friend, the piano virtuoso Michael Chertock, will be back at the Tivoli, as will Shannon Kessler Dooley, our Madama Butterfly from last season, and the members of our wonderful chorus. We also have a surprise or two in store… I’m so looking forward to this concert, am so grateful to everyone who has made it possible, and I'm filled with gratitude for my lucky and gratifying tenure with the CSO.”

A post-concert reception honoring Mr. Bernhardt will take place in the Tivoli Center. A $25 donation to the Bob Bernhardt Guest Artist Fund will allow two guests into the reception to mix, mingle, and enjoy desserts and champagne. Donations can be made on the CSO website

Tickets range from $21 to $85 with $15 available for students and music educators. Tickets can be purchased by calling the CSO Box Office at 267-8583 or online at www.chattanoogasymphony.org
