Keep Catoosa Beautiful Campaign May Events Announced

Catoosa County Government will kick off a Keep Catoosa Beautiful campaign in May.  The campaign will encourage citizens to help keep the county beautiful and litter free. "We invite and encourage citizens to participate in the events planned throughout the month," officials said.

May 12: Landfill Amnesty Day
As a service to the community, Catoosa County and Santek Environmental are offering residents a Landfill Amnesty Day to be held Saturday, May 12 from 8 a.m.-noon at the Catoosa County Landfill, 75 Shope Ridge Road in Ringgold.  Residents are encouraged to clean up their properties and drop off their yard debris, household garbage, waste and recyclables at no charge. This event is open to Catoosa County residents only.  Proof of residency is required (e.g., driver’s license, power bill, voter registration card). No commercial waste will be accepted.

Restrictions:
1. No more than 4 tires per person
2. No mattresses
3. No refrigerants
4. No hazardous materials
5. No commercial waste
6. No tractor or truck tires over 19 feet
7. No paint unless dry or hardened
8. No dead animals

May 19: Community Road Cleanup
Volunteers will arrive at the Fire Station 1 parking lot, 5282 Evitt St. in Ringgold at 8 a.m. on May 19 and be shuttled to various roads throughout the County via Trans-Aid buses.  Participants will be shuttled back to Fire Station 1 for lunch, grilled by the Catoosa County Fire Department. All cleanup supplies will be provided. All trash will be disposed of by the Catoosa County Public Works Department after the event.
