St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School's varsity girls placed 4th overall and varsity boys placed 5th at regional track competition held at Chattanooga Christian. SAS had top two finishes in six events with four athletes going on to the state competition.
Going on to state will be: sophomore Sarah Beth Hobby (South Pittsburg) competing in the Triple Jump and the 300 Hurdles, junior Jalen Tillman (Parkville, MD) competing in the Shot Put, sophomore Isabelle Gordy (Sewanee) competing in the Discus and the Shot Put, freshman Sarah Grace Burns (Sewanee) competing in the High Jump.
SAS had top three finishes in the following boys’ events: 300 Hurdles 3rd junior Georgi Georgiev (Bulgaria); Shot Put 1st junior Jalen Tillman (Parkville, MD); 4x100 3rd senior Emmanuel Thombs (Raleigh, NC), senior Justin Elgouhary (Manchester, TN), Davis Gill (South Pittsburg, TN), and freshman Curtis Gill (South Pittsburg); and Long Jump 3rd Emmanuel Thombs.
SAS had top three finishes in the following girls’ events: 300 Hurdles 2nd sophomore Sarah Beth Hobby (South Pittsburg); 100 hurdles 3rd freshman Sarah Grace Burns (Sewanee); 4x200 3rd sophomore Jayla McLaurin (Las Vegas, NV), senior Lyndsey Wall (Winchester, TN), senior Taylor Warmbrod (Belvidere, TN), and freshman Hannah Warmbrod (Belvidere, TN); High Jump 2nd Sarah Grace Burns; Triple Jump 1st Sarah Beth Hobby; Discus 1st sophomore Isabelle Gordy (Sewanee); Shot Put 1st Isabelle Gordy.
