Man Who Served 186-Month Federal Drug Sentence Caught Delivering Meth In Cleveland, Tn.

  • Monday, June 25, 2018

A man who previously served a 186-month federal prison sentence on a drug conviction has been caught delivering eight ounces of meth in Cleveland, Tn.

Kenneth "Cowboy" Schwartz told agents after his arrest on Friday that he has been selling drugs all his life.

His first felony drug conviction was in 1978 for a large amount of marijuana.

He got the lengthy sentence in 1987 after being caught dealing cocaine.

Authorities said he has at least four different felony drug convictions since 1978 and possibly more.

Agents were tipped off that Schwartz would be delivering meth from Atlanta to Cleveland. He would be traveling in a black Toyota Solera with black rims and a rusty top on I-75 North. He was spotted passing by Ringgold, Ga., about 9 a.m.

The vehicle was stopped just after entering Bradley County after agents said he was driving above the speed limit and driving too close to vehicles.

Schwartz did not give permission to search. A K9 did a hit on the vehicle for drugs, then the meth was located in the back passenger side floorboard wrapped in a waiter's apron.

Schwartz said it was the third time he had brought meth to Cleveland. He said he brought four ounces the first trip and  five the second. He said he charged $375 per ounce.

He was charged in Chattanooga Federal Court with possession with intent to distribute meth.
