William Curtis

William “Dallas” Curtis of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 in Atlanta. 

He was a 1971 graduate of Howard School, and after graduation attended Morris Brown Collage and received his BA degree in Accounting.  He later completed the requirements to become a certified public accountant (CPA) and practiced in the Atlanta area.  He worked for the General Accounting Office as a monitor for several years.

Dallas moved back to Chattanooga to help open the first City Café on Carter Street.  Later they opened the Lee Highway location.  He was the chief accountant for the business.

While in high school, Dallas was listed in the Who’s Who among High School Students.  He was also a member of the Student Council.  Recently he had been an active participant in the Men’s Fellowship of the Class of 71.

During his college years he became a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

He is survived by two daughters, Tammie and Terria, and their mother Ernestine.

Visitation will be on Friday, Sept. 21, from 6-8 p.m. at the Dortch-Williamson Funeral Home, 1410 Hwy 138, SW, Riverdale, Ga. 30296, 770 907-8548. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m. at the Fountain of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, Fayetteville Road, Riverdale, Ga. 30296.
