Johnny White, Jr. has been arrested after stealing a school bus on Monday. There were no children involved, and it was a spare bus at the home of a contractor.

On Monday morning, the school bus was reported stolen from 7126 Garfield Road in Hamilton County.

Later Monday afternoon, after a bolo was sent out by law enforcement, the bus was located on Highway 153 near Shallowford Road by Chattanooga Police Traffic Unit Sergeant Michael Ortel. Sergeant Ortel stopped the vehicle and took the White into custody.

Due to the fact it was reported stolen from an address in the unincorporated portion of the county, the HCSO is conducting the investigation into the theft.

White will be charged with theft over $10,000.

He is currently at the Hamilton County Jail awaiting booking.
