Robert D. Witham, Sr., 82, passed away at his home on Saturday, September 11, 2020, after a short battle with cancer.
A Chattanooga resident for over 40 years, Bob was retired from the U.S. Navy, the Chattanooga News-Free Press and the Chattanooga Times. He was a member of the Shriners, Masons, VFW, American Legion and MMI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett D. and Iloene P. Witham.
Survivors include his wife, Myra Jett Witham; children, Robert D. and Stephanie Witham, Jr., William Gene and Teresa Witham, Barry Wayne Witham, Cynthia R. Davis, Edward Bruce and Diane Witham, Janice Ariane and Shawn Barnes and Victor Adam and Jamie Gray; 27 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Private family graveside services will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
