I find it unsettling to imagine taking the three goals of D.E.I. to their logical ultimate end. How do we measure the success of each of these efforts? How do we know when we've "won" the battle for D.E.I.?
For example, how do we measure the 'diversity' of our country? Who will judge the compliance and enforce whatever "diversity quotas" that are deemed appropriate for a small business, large corporation, a local civic club, a school?
Likewise, 'equity' and 'equality'' are two very different things. Will Washington, D.C. get involved in deciding appropriate wages for a given job description in this free nation of ours? Does 'inclusion' mean that white legislators will now be represented in the Congressional Black Caucus?
The only reason that we still have predominately black or white church congregations is that we still have freedom of choice in religion. Government was never meant to control or mandate human behaviors. I believe government should be limited to facilitating the exercise of freedom according to the Constitution.
